Why FitHikers Exists

We believe every trekker deserves to enjoy the mountains

Many people sign up for incredible Himalayan treks full of excitement, only to reach the mountains wishing they were fitter or had prepared better. Most prepare by walking more, chasing a running target, or spending extra hours in the gym. Those are all great ways to build fitness—but trekking needs something more specific.

FitHikers exists to bridge that gap. We help everyday people prepare with confidence for extraordinary adventures. Our training is built around the real challenges of Himalayan trekking—long climbs, steep descents, carrying a backpack, altitude, and consecutive days on the trail.

Our approach is warm, encouraging, and deeply personal. We meet you where you are — whether you've never trekked before or you're chasing your biggest adventure — and we walk with you every step of the way.

Progressive Training

Build your fitness gradually, with a plan that grows as you grow stronger.

Altitude Awareness

We build acclimatization and altitude readiness into every program from day one.

Encouraging Community

You're never alone on this journey. Our community of hikers supports each other all the way.

Trekker and Mountain Fitness Coach

There's one thing I've noticed after almost every trek in the Himalayas.

So many people merely surviving the trail instead of enjoying it. And almost every time, I'd hear something like:

"I wish I was fitter." or"Next time, I'll prepare better. I'll start working out the moment I get home."

I wasn't any different. I struggled through some of my treks too, learning the hard way what proper preparation really meant.

Before my Everest Base Camp trek, I was looking for a training plan that was actually designed for trekkers. But I quickly realized there were not many options—especially in India—for amateur trekkers. Most programs were built for elite mountaineers aiming for technical peaks. As a result, so many enthusiastic folks struggle to meet the fitness criteria of trekking groups and end up watching their dreams slip away.

And whenever I came home from a trek, my friends would ask, "How do you pull off these massive treks? What's your secret to staying fit?"

That's when it clicked.

Why should preparing for the mountains be so confusing?

That's why I started FitHikers. I wanted to take everything I've learned and use it to help everyday people fulfill their dreams of conquering the trail.

FitHikers was not built for elite mountaineers or professional athletes, but ordinary people with busy schedules and extraordinary dreams.  People who want to stand in the Himalayas feeling strong, confident, and ready to enjoy every moment—not just survive it.
